Clean energy tax credits level the playing field, making clean energy accessible for all

Did you know that the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) includes tax credits that reimburse governments for clean energy investments? New online resources have been developed to make the program more understandable and accessible for all.

The clean energy tax credit programs in the IRA are designed to help tax-exempt entities repay costs for clean energy projects, and the rate of reimbursement can be as high as 70 percent. They are open to an unlimited number of applicants, and new online resources are available to make it easier to navigate.

Equity priorities are interwoven throughout the IRA, and the new Clean Energy Tax Navigator was designed to help organizations that serve disadvantaged populations more easily research the direct pay program and determine how best to benefit from the credits and qualify for bigger paybacks.
