U.S. Department of Energy Boosts Clean Energy Projects with $18M Grant
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) just dropped the news about an $18 million grant funding for tribally-led clean energy projects.
This fabulous gig, known as the Communities Sparking Investments in Transformative Energy (C-SITE), will sprinkle the money on projects that lead the way to clean energy and impact disadvantaged communities, small- and medium-sized cities and towns, and Tribal communities.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm emphasized that such funding will improve communities and enhance energy sovereignty, making life a little more eco-friendly, and a lot more cost-effective.
So, whatโs the buzz about? The DOE wants these projects to deliver clean energy benefits to local communities, ignite long-term economic development opportunities, promote community-identified energy priorities, and build partnerships.
Think building efficiency, electrification, clean transportation, and renewable energy. Even workforce development gets a look in. Sounds like a win-win, right?
With about 20 awards on the table, valued between $900,000 to $3,600,000 each, green energy enthusiasts have all the reasons to celebrate.
